News from CensusTools

It's been a busy week. I have been on leave from my Navy job for the past week and have taken the opportunity to create spreadsheets for England, Ireland and Scotland. So I now have a total of 15 census spreadsheets available for download!

As with my U.S. and Canadian spreadsheet sets, I created three spreadsheets each for England, Ireland and Scotland. The main census spreadsheet for each country faithfully reproduces the actual census forms used for each available census year. For England and Scotland the years covered are 1841-1891, and for Ireland the years covered are 1821-1851 and 1901-1911. The Irish census is unique in that genealogically significant information is spread across three tables in the 1841-1851 years. My spreadsheet allows that information to be recorded. The associated Census Tracker and Checklist spreadsheets for each country mirror the U.S. versions in format and serve the same purpose.

I expect the overseas census spreadsheets to be a real boon to research in those countries. Extraction forms are easily found for the U.S. census, but I have not seen any forms, much less an electronic spreadsheet, which accurately details the countries and census years available in my spreadsheets.
