The Censustools Drawing Board

So what's on tap for the future at CensusTools? Well, even after creating 15 spreadsheets for five countries, there is still much to do. Canada, England, Ireland and Scotland were relatively easy targets for spreadsheet development because I have access to census films from those countries at my local FHC. The next place to go is to fill in the U.S. collection.

There are many states which conducted their own censuses over the years. I have written descriptions of many of those forms, but even the San Diego FHC doesn't have films available for many state returns. I really don't want to create spreadsheets from written descriptions so I will have to rent the films. That of course will take time so I expect the state spreadsheets to trickle out over the coming months. And of course there are other federal census records which I eventually need to cover, such as slave, mortality and veteran's schedules. I expect to have them online in the coming months as I get access to the films.
