CensusTools

Over the years I have received requests from CensusTools users to create a family group sheet in spreadsheet form. I resisted because a family group sheet is something genealogy software programs do well. But there are some definite advantages to having a spreadsheet family group sheet tool, so I am happy to now make one available for download.

I see the advantages of a spreadsheet family group sheet as follows:

• A spreadsheet can be easily shared with family and fellow researchers via e-mail as an Excel file or a PDF document.
• Users can print high quality copies for inclusion in written projects and records.
• A spreadsheet can be exported from Excel as HTML for inclusion in a web based family history. I designed the CensusTools Family Group Report to support HTML conversion. See a sample of this powerful possibility here.
