Letters of the Month

Here's a sampling of the great notes and letters I have received since my last newsletter.

Gary,

I downloaded CensusTools - where was it 20 years ago! Seriously, it looks great - I especially like the checklist and the ability to keep track of one family through the censuses. I've been doing that with the printed sheets but I'll be able to read this much easier. I also appreciate your remembering those of us who love Macs! Although I don't use my Mac much anymore it's still my favorite and I know how few good programs are available for it.

Thank you Carol for taking time to write. Your letter is just further evidence of the advantages of organizing census data electronically. I'm also glad that I could accommodate Mac users. I just wish I had a way of making my spreadsheets available to all the people who use Works instead of Office.

Dear Gary

I noticed in one of your mailings you added a line at the end about helping strangers find their roots. I couldn't agree more. I do a lot of volunteer genealogy work, mostly photographing cemetery headstones and it's a real thrill to know that I've helped a fellow researcher. Keep up the good work!.

Thanks Sarah! I've written before that it's really a fluke that I'm doing this. I offered a single spreadsheet on a couple of Roots lists and I was deluged with responses. I was thrilled to be able to help so many people!
