I was very busy with job related priorities in April so there was no newsletter and no new spreadsheets to release. With more time to dedicate to the growing collection this month, I am proud to announce the release of a new spreadsheet collection for the state of Iowa!

As with the other state releases, I am introducing three spreadsheets for Iowa. The Iowa State Census spreadsheet includes worksheets for seven census years, from 1836 through 1925. This spreadsheet was particularly challenging because the years 1905, 1915 and 1925 are packed with genealogically significant information; far too much to adequately fit on a single 8.5" by 11" page. For those years I created two worksheet pages instead of leaving off important data fields. The Iowa collection also includes a state version of my Tracker and Checklist spreadsheets.

As I stated in my March newsletter, even someone who doesn't want to electronically store their census data can find the state spreadsheets quite useful because very nice blank data extraction forms can be printed from the worksheets. I don't know of any source for state census forms.
